Get Involved

Hawke’s Bay Parents Centre is a volunteer run organisation that has been operating since 1971. We are a group of parents helping other parents. Our centre couldn’t run without the help of volunteers. Here’s how you can get involved:

Antenatal Class Hosts
Hosts are unique to our classes. They help set-up, check off the roll book, put out the supper, help the Childbirth Educator and are usually parents themselves and contribute their experiences to the group.

If you or your antenatal group want to help out for a few hours with newsletter packing or preparing for an event, let us know!

Committee
Our volunteer committee meet once a month to run the Centre. This includes doing the admin, managing the accounts, keeping track of memberships, organising classes, fundraising, coordinating volunteers, running the Toy Library, applying for funding and having some fun too! It’s a great way to contribute to your community plus it’s excellent to have on your CV.

Check out some of the opportunities we have for regular volunteers, or email us to find out about helping out.
